Remove Your Info From Google Search
If your phone number or home address shows up when someone Googles you, you can do something about it. Google has tools to remove personal info from results, though the source sites need handling too.
Two Different Problems
There are two separate things to fix: the result in Google, and the listing on the source site (usually a data broker). Removing it from Google hides it from search; removing it from the source deletes it for good.
Use Google's Results About You
- Go to your Google account and open Results about you (also in the Google app).
- It scans for pages showing your phone, address, or email and lets you request removal from search with a tap.
- Turn on alerts so you are notified when new results with your info appear.
Request Removal of Specific Results
For sensitive cases, Google has dedicated removal forms, for doxxing (your contact info posted with intent to harm), explicit images, and exposed financial or ID numbers. These are removed at Google's discretion under its policies.
Remove It at the Source
Most personal info in Google comes from data brokers. Removing the Google result does not delete the underlying listing, so opt out at the source too, see our data broker opt-out guide.
